Our Mission

Securing content is our mission, across the whole industry.

TPN maintains the MPA Content Security Best Practices and the assessment program built around them. Service providers assess themselves against the Best Practices, work with TPN-accredited assessors to verify their controls, and share remediation updates, earning a TPN Shield that shows clients where they stand.

Much of what we build is free to anyone: the Best Practices, the self-assessment, the Fix It or Risk It campaign, security alerts, and the findings from thousands of assessments to benchmark against your peers. Every facility that closes a gap makes the supply chain harder to attack, member or not.

Protecting creative content from script to screen

MPA 360 Strong

MPA 360 Strong is the Motion Picture Association’s integrated content protection strategy, combining content security, preparedness, enforcement, and advocacy to protect creative content from script to screen. It brings together TPN and ACE under one coordinated framework, working across the full content lifecycle and supported by the broader MPA advocacy and policy network.

Since TPN became wholly owned by the MPA in 2021, the two programs have formed a full lifecycle approach to content protection: TPN raises standards, awareness, and preparedness, while ACE works through a worldwide coalition to reduce piracy and protect the creative marketplace.

“At the core of our content protection strategy is a 360-degree approach to copyright protection, which we call 360 Strong, through two key content protection programs: the Trusted Partner Network (TPN) and the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).”

Letter from the President

Content security is becoming more challenging for every organization in our industry.

In the first quarter alone, TPN issued more Security Alerts than in all of last year. Attackers are moving faster, targeting everything from compromised credentials to unpatched systems and cloud misconfigurations.

TPN’s data tells us something important: most organizations have the right policies in place, but many struggle to consistently put them into practice.

There is a gap between what organizations believe about their security and what independent assessments find. That gap is where risk grows.

I believe closing that gap should not depend on company size or resources. Every organization should have access to practical tools that help strengthen security. That is why TPN provides free resources to the industry, including the MPA Content Security Best Practices, policy templates, self-assessments, gap analysis tools, industry research, and the Fix It or Risk It campaign.

At the same time, assurance matters. A self-assessment tells you what you believe. An accredited assessment helps establish what you can demonstrate. TPN membership provides a trusted framework that allows content owners and service providers to measure, verify, and improve security together.

No organization operates in isolation. We rely on many of the same partners, platforms, and services. When one organization strengthens its security, the entire content supply chain benefits.

That is the purpose of TPN: helping our industry build trust through shared standards, independent assurance, and continuous improvement.

Whether your next step is a self-assessment, an accredited assessment, or addressing a known gap, the important thing is to act.

Together, we can build a stronger and more trusted content ecosystem.
